This page describes how MuffSniffer moderates its catalogue and publishes aggregate information about notices, decisions, appeals, and automated temporary restrictions.
Catalogue and moderation model
MuffSniffer does not accept public uploads. We import metadata only from approved commercial sources after review of adulthood and consent documentation, distribution and preview rights, record keeping, destination domains, and territories. We serve primary thumbnails and fallback previews from our own delivery path; when a rotating preview activates, its frames may load directly from the exact reviewed partner image host. We perform recurring feed and destination checks, block prohibited searches, and prevent confirmed removals or matching cached previews from returning through later imports.
Moderators apply the Acceptable Content Policy and record the action and a public-facing reason. Available measures include metadata correction, territorial restriction, listing quarantine, removal and permanent suppression, and termination of a source relationship.
Automated measures and safeguards
Automation assists with duplicate-report detection, blocked search terms, approved-host and redirect checks, destination and preview safety, source-review expiry, feed health alerts, and matching against permanent suppressions. An unsafe destination or high-risk report can disable the affected listing. Whole-source quarantine is unavailable.
These tools can make errors because metadata, network results, and reports can be incomplete or misleading. Automation does not make the final legal or policy decision on a notice. A human reviews the available context, records an outcome and reason, and handles the one permitted reconsideration request. Operators receive written procedures and access only the information needed for their role.
Notice and appeal process
Anyone may report a specific listing electronically. The Notice and Action page explains the required information, decision process, confidentiality limits, and further remedies. An accepted web report receives case credentials, and a decided case may be submitted once for human reconsideration.
Latest published period
No completed reporting period has yet been published. Once available, this section will show aggregate notice categories, high-priority reports, decisions and outcomes, median decision time, temporary automated quarantines, and appeals. No reporter-level information is published.
Counts use UTC database timestamps. Notices are counted by submission date; decisions and decision time by completion date; appeals by their own submission and completion dates. A decision in one period may relate to a notice from an earlier period, so totals need not reconcile within the same period. Publication obligations and frequency depend on the service's applicable legal classification and size; we may publish voluntarily even where an exemption applies.
