Use this procedure to notify us of a specific MuffSniffer listing that you believe is illegal or violates our Acceptable Content Policy. The easiest route is Report this listing on the item. You may also email [email protected].
What to include
A notice should contain:
- the exact MuffSniffer URL or enough information to identify the listing;
- a clear explanation of why the material is illegal or prohibited, including the right infringed or rule violated;
- the relevant country or legal jurisdiction where that matters;
- supporting facts that allow us to assess the allegation; and
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information and allegations are accurate and complete.
For copyright, performer or privacy, and other formal illegality notices, provide your name and an email address at which we can contact you. A report concerning suspected child sexual abuse material may be anonymous. If you act for another person or organisation, identify that person or organisation and your authority to act.
Do not download, copy, attach, or redistribute suspected illegal material. Send the indexed URL and an explanation. Do not send an identity document unless we later explain why proportionate verification is necessary and provide an appropriate method.
Copyright notices
Identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing listing, your relationship to the right holder, and why the use is not authorised by the right holder, its agent, or the law. Include an accurate good-faith statement and a reliable reply address. This electronic route is available without requiring a particular statutory label; it does not represent that MuffSniffer is registered under a notice regime that requires a separately designated agent.
What happens after a notice
We create a case reference and private access code for accepted web reports. Keep both secure. The case page shows the status, decision, action, and reasons. If you provide an email address, we send or queue a receipt and decision notice; the case page remains the authoritative record if email delivery fails.
Reports concerning suspected minors, non-consensual material, coercion, or trafficking are treated as high priority and automatically hide the listing pending human review. For other reports, we may temporarily restrict the listing where the apparent harm or evidence justifies it. A trained operator assesses the notice objectively and may request clarification or information from the source. We do not make a final decision dependent on whether the source responds.
We may remove or correct the listing, leave it available, restrict it by territory, suppress it from later imports, act against the source, or make a referral where permitted or required. We give a meaningful reason unless doing so would be unlawful or would compromise safety, another person's rights, or an investigation. Reporter details are shared only where necessary and legally permitted.
Reconsideration and other remedies
After an initial decision, the person holding the case credentials may submit one request for reconsideration through the case page. Explain what was misunderstood or provide material new information. Reconsideration is handled by a human. This process concerns the MuffSniffer listing only and does not prevent you from contacting the destination service, a right holder, a competent authority, an out-of-court dispute body where available, or a court.
Misuse and authority orders
We may reject notices that are unsupported, duplicate, fraudulent, abusive, or submitted to harass another person. Knowingly false allegations may have legal consequences. Courts and competent authorities should send orders and official correspondence to [email protected] and include the issuing authority, legal basis, territorial scope, exact item, required action, deadline, and an authenticated copy of the order.
